FAQs
What is Neon Rebels?
1
Neon Rebels is a queer-led music label and events platform dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ artists and marginalised voices within music and nightlife. We exist to create opportunities, visibility and sustainable pathways for artists who are often overlooked by traditional music industry structures. Our work spans music releases, live events and community-led projects, all rooted in queer culture, joy and creative independence.
Who founded Neon Rebels?
2
Neon Rebels was founded by Chris Brogan, a UK-based DJ and music producer with decades of experience in club culture, music production and live performance. Chris’s career has taken him from DIY mixes and underground parties to professional DJing, producing and working closely with artists, promoters and labels. Neon Rebels grew from that lived experience and a desire to build something more nurturing, transparent and community-focused.
Is Neon Rebels only for queer artists?
3
Neon Rebels is proudly queer-led and intentionally prioritises LGBTQ+ artists and marginalised voices. Our focus is on creating space for those who may not feel represented or supported elsewhere. While queerness is central to our identity, alignment with our values – community, respect, collaboration and creative freedom – is essential in everything we do.
What kind of music does Neon Rebels release?
4
We support a broad range of music styles, with strong roots in electronic, club and underground sounds. That said, Neon Rebels is not genre-restrictive. We’re interested in music that feels emotionally honest, culturally connected and creatively bold. From dancefloor-focused releases to experimental and genre-blurring projects, we champion artists who bring something real to the table.
Does Neon Rebels run events?
5
Yes. Events are a core part of Neon Rebels. We produce club nights, showcases and community-focused events that celebrate queer culture and underground music. Our events are designed to be inclusive, safe and joyful, prioritising atmosphere, sound quality and community connection over hype or exclusivity. Dancefloors are where this all began, and they remain central to our mission.
How is Neon Rebels different from other music labels?
6
Neon Rebels is built on care rather than extraction. We prioritise transparency, open communication and artist development over short-term gain. Instead of locking artists into restrictive deals, we aim to support growth, skill-building and long-term sustainability. We see ourselves as a stepping stone and support system, not a gatekeeper.
Do you offer fair and transparent contracts?
7
Yes. Transparency is non-negotiable for us. Our contracts are designed to be clear, fair and easy to understand, with open conversations about revenue, costs and expectations. We believe artists should always know where their music is going, how it’s performing and how income is being shared. Confusion benefits no one, especially creatives.
How can artists submit music to Neon Rebels?
8
When submissions are open, we share full details on our website and social channels. We encourage artists to engage with Neon Rebels as a community rather than viewing us purely as a dropbox for demos. Following our releases, attending events and understanding our ethos will always improve the chance of a meaningful connection.
Is Neon Rebels based in the UK?
9
Yes. Neon Rebels is UK-based, with strong roots in London’s queer and underground music scenes. While our foundation is local, our outlook is global. We collaborate with artists, promoters and creatives across different regions, always staying connected to the communities that shape the music.
How can I stay updated on Neon Rebels releases and events?
10
The best way to stay informed is to follow us on our official social channels and sign up to our mailing list. We regularly share updates about new releases, upcoming events, artist announcements and behind-the-scenes content. Our community is at the heart of everything we do, and we love keeping people close to the process.
Can brands or venues collaborate with Neon Rebels?
11
We are open to collaborations with brands, venues and partners who genuinely align with our values. That means community-first thinking, respect for queer culture and a commitment to meaningful collaboration rather than surface-level marketing. If the fit is right, we’re always interested in creating something special together.
What does the name Neon Rebels mean?
12
Neon Rebels represents visibility, defiance and joy.
Neon symbolises brightness, nightlife and being seen – the glow of queer spaces, club culture and identities that refuse to dim themselves for comfort or acceptance. It speaks to colour, energy and the electric feeling of community on a dancefloor.
Rebels reflects independence, resistance and doing things differently. It’s about challenging systems that exclude, exploit or silence marginalised voices, and choosing to build something better together rather than asking for permission.
Together, Neon Rebels is about shining loudly and unapologetically. It’s a name for artists and communities who embrace difference, push boundaries and create their own space when one doesn’t already exist.
It’s not rebellion for the sake of it – it’s rebellion rooted in care, culture and collective joy.
